Meet Susan Grosoff-Feinblatt

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor specializing in integrated, holistic career counseling and have been counseling career clients since 2002.  I maintain a private practice in Asheville, North Carolina where I see clients at my office.  I also work remotely with clients all over the country and internationally by telephone and Skype.

My approach to career counseling is to see career as one of the many important parts of our lifestyle. In order for a career to be satisfying it needs to support and work with all the other areas of our life. I also believe that because we are all different it is important to come up with individualized strategies that support that particular client's growth. I utilize a variety of interventions including narrative work, career assessments, activities, and homework between sessions to help you uncover the information you will need to be able to make an informed career decision. I also take into account your life's challenges and priorities so that you have the building blocks to achieve your goals.

My background includes working in academic settings as a career counselor and academic advisor, most recently at
Asheville-Buncombe  Technical  Community College  where I worked for the past 7 years and in non-profit at JVS in Los Angeles, CA.  My prior experience includes working as a corporate recruiter, human resource administrator and entertainment executive/script analyst for a variety of prominent companies including Mattel, Razorfish, W.E.T. Design, Cinergi Pictures, the Writer’s Guild of America, William Morris Agency, and Vestron, Inc.

I am also a Career Changer

After working in the film business in
Los Angeles  and New York for over a decade, I realized that I was no longer satisfied with my career but didn't know what I wanted to do next.  With the help of a career counselor, I was able to identify what I needed for a career to be meaningful and after researching my options decided to follow my true calling and become a career counselor. By working with a career counselor, I was finally able to make a successful career transition and return to graduate school to get my Masters degree in Counseling with an emphasis in Career Counseling and am now able to do the work I love, helping clients find meaningful careers that work.
